History of the Middle East:
After World War II, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Israel, and Cyprus, had all become Middle Eastern states. The conflicts between Arabs and the Jews in Palestine ended in 1947 with the United Nations plan to partition Palestine. The Arab leaders rejected this plan. In May 1948, the State of Israel was officially created. In the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia got involved and were defeated by Israel.
Palestinians fled from the areas annexed and became refugees in the neighboring countries. Two-thirds of the Jews expelled or who fled from the Arab lands after 1948 were naturalized by the State of Israel. A modern-day problem with the Middle East is the terrorist organization, al-Qaida, formed by Osama Bin Laden after fighting against the soviets in Afghanistan.
The Family Issue in the Middle East:
Because of all of the civil wars and conflicts in the Middle East, many families are struggling just to stay alive. Many families are hoping though that the political change should free them from poverty and lead to a better state.
Cristianity is the most dominant religion in the Middle East. Most families in different parts of the Middle East consider their families to be really close to them and very important. For example, Iranian, Lebanese, and Armenian families are very close and even rely on their families for important things. In the middle east there is often very wealthy families, and very poor families, both classes are suffering from the conflicts happening in the region right now.
